So I got a C- last semester for doing photography for my university’s yearbook, which counted as an academic credit, and I just now got back the spring semester evaluation that the “teacher” does of each student. (I put quotes because this was more like a job than a class, where I was “paid” in a grade)
And so the “teacher” basically said I was lazy, need to be more proffessional and stop distracting others, didn’t put effort into writing captions, and, I quote, “relying on the attention of pthers to feel validated”. Oh, and sometimes I wasn’t excited about every shoot and I didn’t apply what I know to make good shots (I’m sorry that sometimes the camera messed up amd I didn’t know what to do because it’s only my first fucking year using an actual camera. Thanks for teaching me how to deal with that.)
But is she for real?
I was excited for every shoot. And okay, yeah, maybe some shoots not so much, but you know, that tends to happen when you schedule me to do the same type of fucking shoot every single week.
And excuse you, every question I asked was important because I didn’t know the answer obviously because you never taught us anything. Maybe if it were an actual class instead of a job I would have learned something. And it’s spelled unimportant by the way not inimportant.
And excuse you for saying I didn’t put effort into my work. I fucking did. I looked like a weird ass crazy person when I was on my shoots because of all the weird positions I was in to get creative with my shots. I bled on a shoot once because one of my positions got me injured from shrapnel metal that I accidentally put my knee on in a lab I shot. And you know what? I didn’t even have to do that shoot. I switched my off week so my friend (and roommate) could go home that weekend to see her family so I took her shoots I instead. And that shoot was four hours ling while she was here. She could have fucking done it. And she ended up doing her shoots anyway because you were giving her more responsibility anyway. Yet I still had to do that.
So. Are you fucking kidding me? That’s all I am asking. I mean, I only saw you in passing, and you were never at my photo shoots ao I dont know how you even know how hard I did or didn’t work. But you know what? Whatever. I’m not doing this ever again, and than God. So you know what fuck you and goodbye.
Ten years from now, make sure you can say that you chose your life, you didn’t settle for it.
I grew out of “I never text first” phase, since I realized nothing was wrong with showing someone, you care about them more than your pride
Everyone needs to grow out of the “I never text first phase” sooner rather than later.
In friend groups there is always someone who is always initiating the conversation with everyone they know. It is utterly exhausting, and it leaves them feeling like the friendship would not continue if they weren’t putting in the effort. Do them a favor and start the conversation first for once. It means something.
